Waterbom Bali is where you can enjoy a full wet day out with family and friends, through numerous water-slides, rides and playful games. This island’s premier water park is just across the road from the Discovery Kartika Plaza and Discovery Shopping Mall in south Kuta, and has grown to feature 17 exciting slides and water games for all ages since its inception in 1993. Waterbom Bali is conveniently midway on Jalan Kartika Plaza on the southern section of Kuta Beach. As Bali’s premier water-slide and recreational park, there’s plenty of thrills you can enjoy to your heart’s content for a full day inside.

The ‘Smashdown 2.0’ is an upgrade of a popular slide, hence its name. You start at a height of 25.9m, enter a capsule with a trapdoor at your feet, which then releases you down a an adrenaline-pumping chute of a ride. If you dare, opt for the more thrilling ‘Climax’ that ups the ante, dropping you down with 2.5 G‐force of speed, and whirls you through a near-vertical dip before looping back around.

Other rides for thrill-seekers include ‘Fast n’ Fierce’ and ‘Twin Racers’ where you can challenge your partner for a splashing race down. To wind down, there are more casual rides such as the ‘Double Twist’ and ‘Python’, named so due to their serpentine twists and turns.

The unique ‘Boomerang’ takes you and a partner to scream your lungs out as you twist down a 20m drop, then get swept straight up back up again, before a sensational free fall. Some of the rides require specially designed tubes with grips to hold onto. Other snaky rides that will soon be ready are aptly named, the ‘Constrictor’ and ‘Green Vipers’.

The latest addition at Waterbom Bali is the Flow Rider Double, which lets you live the dream of board-riding on a five-foot stationary wave supplied by Flow-rider Inc. You can surf with a partner at the same time, with a choice of a stand-up or a lay-down board. The little ones can have their fun times at ‘Funtastic’, a more playground type of section dedicated for kids, with shallow pools and fountains.

For a truly placid ride around lush gardens, take a tube for yourself or a double tube for couples and follow the steady stream of the ‘Lazy River’. This is Waterbom Bali’s ultimate feature for a slow-paced relaxation ride through cascading waterfalls and lush foliage, and where you can forget the sense of time.

Waterbom Bali features numerous choices of dining outlets. There’s also a swim-up bar that serves tropical drinks. Out of the pool, various canteens and open-air restaurants offer international and Indonesian snacks and cuisine.

Waterbom Bali’s slides and rides are built and maintained to strict international safety standards. The Waterpark uses advanced salt-chlorination water-sanitizing techniques claimed to be environmentally and skin friendly. It is also an Earth Check Silver Bench marked company for the ongoing commitment to having an environmentally sustainable operation.

Tickets are USD 35 (IDR 490,000) for adults and USD 24 (IDR 325.000) for kids under 11 years of age. Two-day passes and memberships are also available. The entry price does not include towel, locker, gazebo, Flow-rider, Euro-bungy, water blaster, spa services and food beverages. Different rates apply for these additional services. There is a cashless payment system within the park for convenience and safety, applied through the use of a ‘Splash Band’ which stores credit information and scanned for any transaction within the park.
